Chris Hartland’s Veteran Sabinhay Fairmaid has won 1st Prize for “Cutest Photo” in a Nottingham University School of Veterinary Medicine and Science photographic competition to raise funds for Guide Dogs for the Blind. It was sponsored by Hills and Fairmaid’s prize is a 3 months’ supply of dog food. As her photo will also be used in both Hills and Nottingham Uni’ P.R. material we may well be seeing a lot more of Fairmaid!

A delighted Luisa Fallon proudly informs me of her boy Newlin Anchor Chief’s first agility win. It came at Dundee AATC on Jan 10th. Considering dogs can only compete from 18 months and Chiefy has just turned 20 months he may well have good “careers” in both show and agility rings.

First Best of Breeds for the new decade (assuming no hardy exhibitors braved the elements to attend Kilmarnock!) were Marion Lawson’s Misken Rhum at Winthank (right) who also won the Hound Group at St Andrews & Cupar Limit Show on January 9th. On the same day Liz Calikes’ Newlin Bailiff JW was BOB and Group 3 at Paisley.

Sad news from Susan Arden who lost her old girl Molly (Newlin Almond at Madika) on December 14th. Susan found it hard to write, but has sent a tribute for inclusion in her News page.
