Angus & Kincardineshire Canine Association held a Limit Show on Sunday 2nd April. Held in Forfar, Fiona Findlay didn’t have far to travel and had a very successful day with Rhiconich Code who won AV Hound Special Puppy judged by Claire Gilluley and then went on to win Best Special Puppy In Show judged by Mrs Kay Hogg. Congratulations!

At the recent AGM chairperson Liz Calikes presented Hazel Deans with the SBC annual trophies which were won for a second year by Gempeni Cornflower. The Hound Association of Scotland held their 37th Championship at Errol Showground on Saturday 8th April. Beagles were judged by Jen Davies who awarded DCC and BOB to Serena Parker & Graham Stevens’ Ch Serenaker Armani and BCC to Sam Goldberg’s Molesend Dormouse JW. RDCC went to Kelly Diamond & Ben Carruthers’ Jalhar Fame N Fortune from Kelcard and RBCC to Hazel Deans’ Gempeni Cornflower. Lynda and Pam Havard’s Annavah Nickleby was BPIB, John Beard’s Kellitcreed Sweeney Tod was BJIB, Jackie Fraser’s Wyvisview Harlequin BVIB and Elizabeth McEwan’s Janfrey Valentino was BSBIB.

K Sweeney Tod went on to win Reserve Best Junior In Show and W Harlequin was Reserve Best Veteran In Show. These were both judged by Mrs Fran Hanney-Mitchell. J Valentino went on to win Special Beginners Group 3 judged by Bill Armstrong.

Beagles also had success in the stakes classes. Puppy Dog Stakes was won by Serenaker Saltydog, Puppy Bitch Stakes was won by Felinoak Ffansi Nansi, both judged by Bill Armstrong. Wyvisview Harlequin was 3rd in Veteran Stakes judged by Rachel Wray and Gempeni Cornflower was 2nd in the KCGC stakes judged by Lyn Hewson.

Congratulations to two talented beagles and owners. Two super agility achievements in two days!

Luisa Fallon and Boss enjoyed a couple of days away in Cumbria over Easter at the Phase Purple KC Agility show. Not only did Boss win a G4 Agility class and a G4 Jumping class, he also gained enough points to qualify for his Agility Warrant Silver (subject to KC confirmation). His KC name will now be Newlin Rambler AW(S)

At a very muddy Longfield agility show on 11th April Susan Arden’s 8 year old Dottie’s 1st in Agility and 2nd in Jumping gave her the final points required for her Agility Warrant Platinum (subject to KC confirmation). Dottie’s KC name will now be Madika Spot On JW ShCM AW(P). Susan’s Candi also won a 1st place.

The weekend of 16th and 17th April was a successful one for two veterans.

On Saturday Susan Arden’s Madika Spot on JW ShCM (AW(G) aka Dottie was Reserve Best Veteran In Show at Humberside Hound Association open show judged by Mark Ord.

On Sunday Jackie Fraser’s Wyvisview Harlequin went one better than her RBVIS at HAS and was Best Veteran In Show at Ross & Cromarty CS open show judged by Mrs L.A. MacKenzie.

There’s no stopping Luisa Fallon’s ‘Boss’ who is on a roll. Just a week after gaining his AW(S) he wins again. This time at the Scottish Border Collie Club Agility show held at Lanark racecourse where he won 1st in both G4 Agility and G4 Jumping.

Another milestone in Boss’ agility career as his 1st and 2nd at Platinum Agility show at Kelso on 21st April resulted in him winning out of Grade 4 and now competes in Grade 5.

April ends with two Championship shows. The first was the all breeds general show WELKS held at Malvern on 27th April. Beagles were judged by Nigel Wright who found his DCC and BOB in Parker & Stevens’ Ch Serenaker Armani. BCC was the Havard’s Ch Annavah Princess Tiana with RBCC going to Goldberg’s Molesend Dormouse.

Three days later it was Devon Cornwall & South West Beagle Society which was held at Mark Village Hall in Somerset. DCC went to David Craig’s 7 month old Davricard Gaultier who went on to win RBIS and BPIS. Lynda and Pam Havard’s Ch Annavah Princess Tiana was the BCC and BIS winner with the same owners’ 9 month old Dufosee Julianna avec Annavah taking RBCC and RBPIS. The judge was Emily Thornton who is pictured left with Tiana, Gaultier and Julianna.
