SOUTHERN COUNTIES BEAGLE CLUB held its very first CHAMPIONSHIP show on Saturday 13th January. The venue was Steventon Village Hall, Abingdon, Oxfordshire and the judge was Serena Parker (Serenaker). There was a super entry of 111 dogs (125 entries) for Serena to judge. The show was lucky that the weather was very kind for the time of year.
BEST IN SHOW and RESERVE BEST IN SHOW went north to Co. Durham. David Craig’s Ch Davricard Gaultier was the DCC and BIS winner. Samantha Goldberg’s Molesend Dormouse was awarded her 3rd and crowning BCC and RBIS (subject to RKC confirmation).
Christine Lewis also had a very good day winning BPB and BEST PUPPY IN SHOW with Fallowfield Raya and the RDCC with Fallowfield Fellman.
The only Scottish exhibitor was Fiona Findlay with her Rhiconich beagles. It was a marathon 455 mile trip from Forfar to Steventon but a worthwhile one as Fiona’s four hounds were all placed and came home with 2 x 3rd, a 2nd and another 1st in LD for Obconica. Very well done!
