May 2011
1st – Border Counties Hound at Lancaster today, the breed judge is Colin Gillanders who has awarded our dogs well in the past......little Lagan and Cheri have never been under Colin before so we decided to see what he thought of them. First in the ring was Lagan who was awarded 1st in Junior and again 1st in Post Graduate, after a few classes it was Cheri’s turn in Open bitch and she won that..... our friend Phil Reid who has PBGV’s & GBGV’s also attended this show with his wife Dianne and they happened to be watching the beagles at this point so I roped Phil into show Cheri in the challenge as I thought she would be easier for him. Much to my delight the judge awarded Lagan BOB........ To top of a really lovely day Lagan was then awarded RESERVE BEST IN SHOW from 19 hounds from judge Freda Marshall............... Thanks to both judges and everyone who waited to support me. Also a huge WELL DONE to Dianne & Phil’ as their PBGV puppy Bridget who won BPIS.............................
15th – It was the Scottish Beagle Club’s annual BBQ today and although I didn’t see much of it from the kitchen everyone who attended appeared to have a good time. I took Maja & Lagan along for the day out and Maja had a ball meeting new friends.....it’s such a shame she is so car sick......
15th – Bruadair have great delight in announcing they have bred their first CHAMPION..........Huge congratulations are sent to Zuzana & Ivy (Bruadair Gaolach) who live in Prague Chez Republic. 20th – SKC Championship Show today under judge Mrs D Ayland. What a wild day....the weather was awful and I don’t think I was warm at any point during the show..........on the showing side of things it did look a lot rosier with Lagan being awarded 2nd in Junior Dog and then 1st in Graduate. Lagan was photographed (below) at SKC by Hazel Deans.
